One of the most unfortunate things I see when identifying youth players is the player who is told over the years how great they are. By the time they are a high school freshman, they starts to believe it. By their senior year, they fizzled out. Then there's the counterpart": a player waiting in the wings, who quietly and with determination decides they are going to make something of their self. Invariably, this humble, hardworking player is the one who becomes the real player.
